About CleanSettle
CleanSettle is a browser-only trip expense calculator. There's no account, no login, and no backend server storing your trip data — everything you enter stays on your device (and, if you generate a share link, gets encoded directly into that link). We do collect anonymous visitor analytics (page views, general usage patterns) to understand how CleanSettle is used and improve it. This doesn't include anything you type into the calculator itself.

Do I need to create an account?

No. CleanSettle works immediately in your browser — no sign-up required.

Is my trip data stored on a server?

No. Your data stays in your browser. Sharing a trip works by encoding it directly into the link you send.

Does my group need to use a shared fund?

No — CleanSettle supports both a shared fund and a simple pay-as-you-go, personal payment model. You can switch between them anytime.

Can we use more than one currency?

Yes. Turn on Multi-currency and log expenses in whatever currency they were actually paid in — CleanSettle converts everything automatically.

What happens if a shared link breaks or gets cut off?

CleanSettle falls back safely to your own browser's most recent trip instead of showing an error page.

How is CleanSettle different from Splitwise or Tricount?

CleanSettle focuses specifically on travel, while Splitwise and Tricount are general-purpose expense splitters. CleanSettle also supports Shared Funds, works without an account, and lets groups share trips using a simple link — making it a lightweight alternative to Splitwise for group travel.
